Karpov institute & Elmarco LTD
Using the facilities of Fiber Materials Electrospinning Laboratory joint ownership research laboratory with Czech company Elmarco LTD - a world leading manufacturer of electrospinning equipment - was created.
Main goals of joint laboratory are the following:
- development of new electrospun materials
- promotion of nanofiberous materials on Russian market
- demonstration of Elmarco LTD equipment performance.
Elmarco LTD
Elmarco LTD was created in 2000 year and is located in Liberec, Czech Republic. The main activity of Elmarco LTD is to develop and manufacture of NS LAB, NS LAB-M laboratory-scale plants and commercial plants of NS-LINE types to produce nanofiberous materials using an original technology Nanospider™. Elmarco LTD is also developing technologies to produce nanofiberous materials from a variety of organic and inorganic compounds (AcousticWeb™, AntimicrobeWeb™, NS WEB & CRD). In this area Elmarco LTD has a research connection with the world's largest research centers.

Nanospider™ Technology.

Traditional technology
A key feature of Nanospider™ Technology and the main difference from the traditional electrosinning technology is an absence of dosaging spinning elements. The electrospinning is carried out from surface of special cylinder,

Nanospider™ technology
which is continuously washed by spinning solution or melt. This allows the electrostatic field to spontaneously control the number and relative position of jets in the most optimal ways. Application of Nanospider™ Technology eliminates the contamination of spinning elements and makes the electrospinning control easier. These advantages make it possible to use Nanospider™ Technology for production nanofiberous materials in unattended high efficiency continuous lines.
Production possibilities of Nanospider™ Technology
- production of fibers with diameters from 50 nm to 1,5 mkm
- production of fibers from:
- organic polymers (polyamide, polyurethane, polyvinyl acetate, polyethylene, polypropylene, polysterene etc.)
- inorganic compounds (TiO2 , Al2O3 , ZnO etc.)
- biopolymers (chitosane, gelatine etc.)
- production of fibers both from solution and melt
